Escape to the Lake

My son and I had a really great time here. The space was quiet and out of the way, with a beautiful view. The stars at night were amazing and the sunrise gorgeous. What made it was the wild swimming on a hot July afternoon.

Teign Valley Farm

As per the previous reviews the track to and from the parking space is steep but no means a deal breaker. In fact it gave the sense of exploring with my pack on and setting out to find my spot for the night. The host was brilliant leading up to my visit by providing clear instructions and advice regarding the various locations to camp. I found my way to a spot that had some great shelter and a natural plato to pitch my tent. The host even provided a great fire pit with an abundance of fire wood naturally laying on the ground to gather. The host even provided some fire lighting material to let me have a go at starting the fire without matches or a lighter. The site is safe and secure with fabulous views. During the evening I had bats circulating overhead and the sound of owls toting as well. Overall a great experience, lovely views and a sense of isolation. I thoroughly recommend.

Helms Deep

My Son and I chose to stay at Helms Deep for the ease of access, clear views and it was quite close to the M6, so perfect for us coming from Lancashire. We watched a beautiful sunset, a sky full of stars, and a fantastic sunrise, it was such a great space. We had the pleasure of meeting the host, and she was lovely, checking how our stay was.

Roman Baths

Blissfully peaceful spot, not another soul for miles. The only sounds were that of the stream and the odd helicopter! Had spent the day exploring Janet Foss, Gordale Scar and Malham Cove, along with a brilliant lunch in Malham itself. Leaving the bustle behind and heading to the Roman Baths site, it soon became apparent why this site is highly rated and would gladly recommend. Spoilt for choice when it comes to a pitch, you don't have to even cross the stream for the pitch in the pictures as there is a large flat shelf on the eastern side too. Look forward to returning ⛺

A year of CampWild Community Adventures

It has been a year to remember at CampWild. Over 500 members ventured into Wild Spaces this summer, nearly 250 joined us at campouts & we grew to a community of over 3500.
