Cwm Ynysgyfarch
Brecon, South Wales
A rarely visited but truly extraordinary space to camp. A mosaic of habitats including meadow, stream & over 50 acres (yes you read that correct) of ancient woodland to explore. See if you can find the secret waterfall...
Whitestone Wood
East Grinstead, Sussex
Several acres of native British woodland in the heart of a rewilded & protected country park. This has been one of most popular spaces this year & it is pretty obvious why as it feels like you are in the middle of nowhere (but only 500m from your car!)
Bowden Glen
Devon
An OG Wild Space & still one of the best. An ancient woodland valley virtually untouched for at least a century. Get lost here, explore & one of the best locations for foraging alongside the cascading stream. A dream spot to camp all year round.
Hayes Wood
Nottinghamshire
A newly added Wild Space in the heart of England with eight acres of mixed woodland entirely to yourself. It is sheltered with good access and extras such as a compost loo & firepit, this is an amazing spot to camp during the winter.
Caradon Rainforest
East Cornwall
Yes - an actual rainforest. We don't have many left in the UK so to have the privilege to camp in one is pretty amazing. A huge & stunning woodland along side the banks of the River Lynher.
As you explore these woodland retreats, remember that every visit is a chance to witness nature’s quiet transformation during the colder months. Embrace the crisp air, the crunch of frost underfoot, and the peacefulness that only autumn and winter can bring. Whether you're there to capture the perfect photograph, enjoy a meditative walk, or simply switch off from the world, these wild spaces offer a unique kind of magic that lingers long after you’ve left. So, take your time, soak in the serenity, and let the woods work their wonder on you—because the best adventures don’t always happen in summer.
