We’re beyond excited to introduce the 2025 CampWild Champions - a passionate, adventurous group of individuals who will help us unlock the wild for more people than ever before.
With over 50 incredible applications, selecting just 12 Champions was no easy task. Each story we read was filled with a genuine love for the outdoors, personal experiences of adventure, and a deep connection to nature. After an inspiring day of deliberation (fueled by a few celebratory beers), we’re proud to have formed a team that reflects the very spirit of CampWild.

Why We’ve Created the Champions Team
CampWild has always been about more than just camping. It’s about connection - to nature, to community, and to the wild spaces that make the UK such a special place. The CampWild Champions will be the heartbeat of that mission in 2025, helping us:
🌿 Inspire More People to Get Outside: Through their own unique adventures, the Champions will showcase the transformative power of wild camping—encouraging people from all walks of life to embrace the outdoors, even if they’ve never camped before.
🏕 Host Micro Campouts Across the UK: In addition to joining us at our flagship community campouts, each Champion will host their own micro campouts in Wild Spaces across the UK. These small, intimate gatherings will bring people together to share stories, learn new skills, and experience the magic of camping under the stars.
📸 Share Authentic Wild Experiences: Whether it’s through writing, photography, social media, or creative projects, the Champions will document their journeys, offering a window into the diverse and personal ways we can all connect with the natural world.
So are you ready to meet the 2025 CampWild Champions?!
Meet the 2025 CampWild Champions 🚀
Gary May @sockpan

Gary found his love for the outdoors later in life after growing up in the countryside and dreaming of city life. A three-week charity hike to Machu Picchu changed everything, igniting a passion for hiking, wild camping, and long-distance adventures. Since then, he’s completed the Camino across Spain and is now preparing for six-month trails in the US. With a growing YouTube channel, Gary documents the highs and lows of adventure—showing that things don’t always go to plan but that’s part of the fun!

Danielle Wilson @the.wandering.wilson
Danielle is all about bringing people together and inspiring others to explore new places. She has hosted group hikes and adventure trips and is keen to create more shared outdoor experiences. A long-time supporter of CampWild, she loves everything we stand for and can’t wait to share the journey with the community. With her camper van ready to roll, 2025 will be full of new camping adventures!
Georgia & Neil @naturewithgeorgia | @neiledgley_
Neil, a former British Army soldier, and Georgia, a wildlife photography enthusiast, spend their time exploring the UK’s wild landscapes. Neil is working towards building a photography business, while Georgia shares her passion for nature and birdwatching with her community. They love getting off-grid, whether in a campervan, hammock, or tent, and are excited to inspire more people to experience the wild through photography and storytelling.

Dan Wroe @active.wroe
Dan found his passion for the outdoors after leaving an intense career as a prison officer. Now, he’s on a mission to help others discover wild camping—sharing both the highs and the mishaps (like learning why an R-rated sleeping mat matters the hard way!).
He’s working towards his Mountain Leader qualification and regularly leads group hikes, aiming to make wild camping more accessible and welcoming.
Augusta & Family @augustasharp

As a mum of three, Augusta is on a mission to prove that adventure doesn’t stop when you have kids—it just looks different! She and her family split their time between the UK and Doha, finding new ways to push their comfort zones and explore together. Starting with simple camping trips, they’ve grown into more ambitious adventures, and now Augusta is determined to show other families how rewarding it can be to embrace the wild with little ones in tow.
Patrii & Family @pattitu__
Patrii is a passionate advocate for the outdoors, ensuring her family spends time in nature every single day. Since becoming a mum, she’s embraced wild camping with her children, preferring wilder spots over traditional campsites. Through her Instagram, she shares her journey of making outdoor adventure a priority, inspiring other families to do the same. CampWild’s ethos aligns perfectly with her values, and she’s excited to showcase how even the smallest explorers can thrive in the wild!
Jack Bicknell @jackb.93

An engineer by day and photographer by night, Jack has been expanding his skills in photography and videography, hoping to transition into full-time creative work. He fell in love with wild camping after a spontaneous CampWild trip to Dartmoor and has since explored multiple locations across the UK. Jack is keen to document the emotional and visual experience of wild spaces, using photography and storytelling to inspire others to take that first step into the unknown.
Jess Golding @in_the_jesky

Jess is a long-distance cyclist, adventure storyteller, and passionate advocate for stepping outside your comfort zone. With over 4,000km of cycling adventures under her belt, she’s built a thriving blog and newsletter community focused on adventure and bikepacking. She aims to make the outdoors feel more accessible, especially for women who may feel hesitant about wild camping. Her storytelling highlights both the challenges and joys of outdoor exploration.
Cal Thompson @adventure_cal

Cal is a freelance photographer with over a decade of experience, specialising in outdoor and adventure photography. He has worked with the National Trust, Northumberland National Park, and the Northumberland 250, capturing the beauty of the wild. Growing up on a farm instilled in him a deep love for the outdoors, and now he’s training to be a Mountain Leader to help others experience nature in a responsible and sustainable way.
Suzanne & Reggie @_reggiethecockapoo_

Suzanne is a Liverpool-based adventurer, balancing a full-time job with her wanderlust. She loves solo adventures, seclusion, and the beauty of wild spaces. Through her content, she inspires others to reconnect with nature, leave no trace, and step outside their comfort zones. She is passionate about ensuring that wild spaces remain protected and accessible for future generations.

Louise Pamment @lou.lives.big
Lou swapped studio photography for the great outdoors, becoming a full-time van lifer to live more closely with nature. She believes in the power of getting comfortable with the uncomfortable and has started a local community to help others unlock a deeper relationship with the natural world. She shares lessons from nature and the mental and physical benefits of embracing the wild.
Rebecca Dawson @myoutdoorsadventures
Rebecca found wild camping later in life but quickly fell in love with the deep sense of connection it brings. Working in both the farming and outdoor sectors, she is passionate about the relationship between landowners and the CampWild community. She aims to create content that showcases the connection between agriculture and access to wild spaces, demonstrating how the two can work together to open up nature for more people.
This is just the beginning. Keep an eye on our channels for upcoming micro campouts, wild stories, and ways to connect with our Champions in person.
